Xbox to Revamp Achievements Based on Feedback, Xbox Insiders Set to Opt in First

"Chievy" hunters can rejoices as Microsoft recognises that the old system is just that... old, and needs a revamp!

In some fun news in the games industry for a change, Microsoft will be rejigging its Achievements program for Xbox players, with Xbox Insiders to be given the keys first during a trial period before it's rolled out in full.

Xbox was the first major platform to feature the program, which quickly gave it an edge over the competition. Even Nintendo has seemingly jumped on board in varying capacities with the Switch 2 suggesting player demand for the "bragging rights" setup remains high.

Core among the changes for the Xbox revamp is customisation and personalisation for the notification, which will now match your colour scheme. New animations for Classic and Rare unlocks are also coming to the roll out. Additionally, you can hide certain games from your Achievements list allowing you to curate what others see. Microsoft has suggested this is so you can "highlight what matters to you most", but we all know it's because players who balloon their overall score by playing kids or super-easy games have probably been asking for this the most :P

Finally, 100% game completion will be immediately highlighted in your Achievements list, making those stand out and also be easier to find, while a new filtering system is set to make overall navigation much easier than it is now, which we're genuinely thankful for.

Apparently this is all just the first step in a larger overhaul with feedback chief among the ways in which new features and updates will be added down the track, so don't be shy!
