Wreckfest 2 Gets a Major Tune up Via its Latest Update for Early Access

I'm gonna wreck it!

While the motor racing noise in gaming right now is around Forza Horizon 6 (our review is incoming), another unique gem has not-so-subtly updated itself with a massive content and quality-of-life drop in Early Access. Wreckfest is a rare beast that sports the best damage and physics model for this type of game since the Burnout series (RIP), and doesn't look to be slowing down or even stalling any time soon.

Take a peak:

As you can see from the video above, the aim of the race is the craziest, dumbest fun you could possibly have, particularly with the new "Half Car", the ragdoll driver addition and the game's newest mode: "Suicide Racing". In addition there's a new venue, improved damage modeling and the arrival of the tuning system -- here's the full list of actual things coming by way of "Upddate 7"

  • New half car with ragdoll driver
  • Two additional new vehicles
  • New US racing venue "More Raceway" with three different layouts
  • Seven new Challenge events
  • First version of the new tuning system
  • Major visual damage and physics upgrades
  • New Suicide Racing mode
  • Expanded scoring mechanics and gameplay improvements
  • AI, online UI, rendering and audio improvements
  • Performance and stabiliy fixes

While still in EA, Wreckfest is expected to release this year, and if you haven't jumped in early yet and can put Subnautica 2 down for a minute or two, we highly recommend jumping into this beauty. The first was an absolte standout and we can't wait to strap in for the official 1.0 release later this year.

Check out a couple of fresh screens below.
