Kingdom Come: Deliverance II was, and remains, one of our favourite games of 2025. Don't believe us? Check out our in-depth review to learn why. So when we got wind of the game's next story-heavy DLC, Legacy of the Forge, given forging weapons and being a blacksmith was one of our favourite elements of the base game, to say we were tickled damascus would be an understatement. And when you consider just how deep the game goes on RPG components, well, it just makes sense to up the crafting and sim side of things even more. Truly, KCDII is special.

Take a look at the content's trailer below:

Honestly, the premise for this DLC is almost standalone sim-genre levels of buy-in:

Return to Kuttenberg and put your blacksmithing skills to the test to acquire and repair a legendary burnt-down forge, where your father, Martin, spent his youth as an apprentice.

Establish your own home in the heart of Kuttenberg, designing the forge itself as well as its surroundings and your very own private quarters with the ability to customise and furnish to aid your gameplay.

This sort of thing is par for the course in games as large and varied in gameplay as KCDII, but it's unique here because the base game follows such a fairly strict storyline that this almost comes as a gust of fresh air. That Henry can craft a home and business for himself is excellent, but that is equally a touching way for him to connect with his late father which also includes a pertinent quest related to his Old Man, well... no, it's you who is crying -- I just have forge smoke in my eyes.

Ahem.

Your business will include daily quests, which will mean income which will open up an Ye Olde Timey brochure for you to upgrade your domicile and more. Again, we're backing into the sim route, but that's okay because there's still a larger game here with plenty to do and now a home and business you own to go back to.

Legacy of the Forge drops as part of the game's Expansion Pass on September 9. Check out a few screens in our carousel below.
