Classic Ford Vs Holden Returns by Way of a Free "Aussie Rivals Pack" for Project Motor Racing

Now that the V8 Supercars' biggest rivalry is via the American models of Chevy Camaro and Ford Mustang, many Australian motor racing enthusiasts long for the days of classic competition between the Holden Commodore and the Ford Falcon -- models that were once mostly manufactured on Australian soil, and a rivalry that goes back through the ages.

Well, Project Racing has your nostalgia covered with Update 2.1 bringing with it the 2013 Holden Commodore VF and (a fully reworked) Ford Falcon FG. There's more in the update, but watch the trailer first, because we've already highlighted the best bit above.

In addition, and as promised, the update also brings with it visual improvements and quality-of-life tweaks as well as "fully rebuilt GT4 and GT3 classes". Most fun of all is improved collisions.

The GT3 and GT4 overhauls come with from the ground up-built vehicles that take into account "manufacturer-derived" data for the most realistic in-game versions yet, which also includes all-new tyre data to improve handling and behaviour. Join-in-Progress also gets a boost allowing players to more seamlessly join in online sessions that are already running while all the waiting for a Ranked Session isn't locked to the registration screen, meaning you can head off and faff about until you're prompted into the session you've been waiting for.

And for those with a full triple-screen setup, support for that goes into alpha from here though bear in mind it's in its early stages and will likely get significant updates of its own down the track.

Also as mentioned above, close-quarters racing and better collision behaviour will make for more intense and realistic races, improving multiplayer overall.
