Squid Game 2 Teaser Trailer Drops, New Images Released

Red light, green light… let the games begin, again!

Squid Game S2 might very well be the most anticipated series this year. The first became an overnight sensation and went on to become the most popular Netflix series of all time, breaking numerous firsts for a non-English series and prompting the creation of huge fan groups swapping conspiracies, philosophies and unique trivia about the deeply layered show.

Now, we all get a fantastic Boxing Day treat when Season 2 finally airs, with Netflix today dropping the first official teaser trailer, alongside a handful of images. We’ve also learnt that Lee Jung-jae returns as Seon Gi-hun who is on a mission to expose the deadly game, but finds himself face to face with a fresh batch of untrusting and seemingly greedy new contestants unwilling to listen to his whistleblowing. Have a looksee:

With a hardened demeanour and the scars of past games, Gi-hun is on a desperate mission to expose the deadly truth of the competition. Yet, his warnings go unheeded, and tensions rise as fellow players question his intentions.

The teaser also shows the return of Lee Byung-hun as the mysterious Front Man, whose true motivations remain cloaked in secrecy, while Wi Ha-jun’s Hwang Jun-ho is back, driving the narrative forward as the relentless detective on a mission of his own.

We’d be lying if we didn’t say we were PUMPED for this. The first was just such an unknown and the world watched almost in unison, meaning spoilers and the like were rare while we all sighed, cried, shouted and cringed as a global collective, which is rare and very likely won’t specifically happen again. That said, we do encourage two things -- either watch it immediately, or just be a good TV citizen and avoid spoilers for those who maybe can’t binge to the same level.

We'll share more on the upcoming show when it comes across our desk, in the meantime have a look at some fresh images from Squid Game S2 in our carousel below.
