Netflix Reveals Release Month for Award-Winning Blue Eye Samurai S2

Will you watch in native English, or go with Japanese?

Blue Eye Samurai's long-awaited Season 2 is upon us, and Netflix has revealed it'll be kicking off its 2027 with the heralded animated series, taking the its lead, Mizu, to London in an entirely expected plot twist that will further challenge her birth heritage.

Before we go any further, take a look for yourself:

As the first season did, we expect S2 will embrace the cultural barriers of yesteryear while also telling a ripping yarn of breaking through such barriers to be best version of yourself you can be. The full cast returns, only this time the narrative will be split between two places with Mizu being in ye olde London town, while her pals, Akemi and Taigon keep things interesting in Japan, especially with a new Shogun to deal with.

Winner of multiple awards across the TV and animation landscape, Blue Eye Samurai revealed itself as a wholly authentic Japanese experience, despite being mostly crafted by Western hands and writing, not dissimilar at all to the equally heralded live-action series, Shogun.

We'll have more on this as we get closer to release, but for now check out a handful of production shots from Netflix officially in our carousel below.
