The Ninth Jedi Might Equal the Most Content We've Ever Wanted

Even an ancient ship had multiple can(n)ons, right?

Disney+ has revealed that there's a new frontier in front of it, and us, by way of the very tantalising "Star Wars Visions Presents". First Space Vespa off the Rangkor -- "The Ninth Jedi".

Jokes aside, what we're looking to be in store for is expanded storytelling from the streaming platform's celebrated anime anthology series, "Star Wars: Visions" -- a series we're very fond of here. And, maybe, this was always the plan. But still, we love that anime has become as much a part of the Star Wars media presence as about anything, and if we know anything about modern pop culture, it's that anime craftspeople are currently at the top of their game, and deserve us as an audience as much as we deserve them as creators.

Lost? Sorry, take a look at what we're referencing below:

If you caught the S3 release of Visions, you'd know that the Ninth Jedi is pretty up there, alongside ANIMA and Kamikaze Douga's "The Duel" among a handful of others (please, oh, please, make a The Duel full series), so we might be in for full extrapolative versions of at least a couple, if not a handful, of the anthological exploits of creators set free in A Galaxy Far, Far Away. But come August 5, it won't matter what's next, because we'll have a full eight-episode arc to enjoy, and all written and handled by one of our fave studios in Production I.G. -- responsible for classics like Ghost in the Shell as well as modern gems like Kaiju No. 8 (another platform-favourite).

Take a look at the poster art embedded below but, more importantly, maybe give all of the three seasons a re-watch because you might be able to get your hopes up about a number of the Visions visions from some of the best creators and studios in the business.
