Batman: Knightfall Part 1 Trailer Gives us Bane-Sized Levels of Excitement

The Batman animated series and movies across Warner Bros. Pictures Animation and DC Studios have always been fairly solid, but the forthcoming Batman: Knightfall trilogy might wind up being the benchmark, at least based on the most recent trailer for Part 1.

For the comic aficionados out there, the Knightfall arc -- which was three issues -- redefined modern Batman and has since become a linchpin in character setups, timelines and more for related or expanded stories... but you knew that.

For everyone else, we're kind of excited for you to experience this franchise and IP-defining arc for yourself, with fresh eyes. And it's looking like no punches are being pulled in the above. Additionally, it's worth remembering that this is just the fist part of a three-part series planned and features Anson Mount (Hell on Wheels) as Batman/Bruce Wayne alongside the indomitable Michael Mando as Bane.

If you're unaware of Mando's work, he played Vaas in Far Cry 3 to perfection and arguably set an industry standard to "menacing" and "psychotic" in villainy in the voice-acting realm with that performance.

Out this August 25th as a digital streaming product, Batman: Knightfall P1 is looking like one of THE Batman experiences of the year, whether you've experienced this storyline before or not.
