Predator: Killer of Killers Might be the Predator(s) We've Always Wanted

Not gonna lie, we may have been dreaming of this type of thing since 1987...

Disney and 20th Century Studios released the very first look at its animated anthology feature Predator: Killer of Killers overnight and it looks brutal, incredible and maybe just the best iteration of the seesawing series yet, Predator and Prey aside (as the two best released Predator stories released).

Fans have been screaming out for a Predator animated... something for aeons and while the intergalactic hunters have enjoyed plenty of time in comic books and videogames, it's genuinely head-scratching that nothing in the animated space has ever really been done, let alone considered. Enter 20th Century Studios, Prey director Dan Trachtenberg and a more than willing Disney and Disney+ to finally deliver Predator to the cel format.

Have a gander at the decloaked trailer below and be careful not to trip on your jaw.

The feature is actually three tales following three hunters through three different periods in Earth's history: ancient Scandinavia, feudal Japan and WWII, and each with their own unique human stories rudely interrupted by the Predator taking on warriors deemed worth their time and hunting prowess.

With animation not too far removed from the popular Arcane series on Netflix or Into the Spider-Verse, Predator: Killer of Killers looks incredible and full of brutal vibrancy and we can't wait to not only experience it, but to see how it fares post-release in the hopes that this won't be the last jaunt down animation road for a franchise that has had far too many misses in its storied life out in the wild, because it is far too deserving of simply being excellent all of the time.

The animated anthology airs exclusively on Disney+ this June 6. Stay tuned for more as we have it and check out the ultra-cool poster below!
