Official Predator: Badlands Trailer Destroys All, Killer of Killers Gains Cheeky Epilogue

Please be good, please be good, please be good, please be good...

Predator, Predator, Predator! That's the IP title that keeps swimming in our collective head at the moment, and as if the teaser for the upcoming Predator: Badlands as well as the recent streaming release of the brilliant Predator: Killer of Killers wasn't already enough Yautja-flavoured content for you, a longer "official" trailer for Badlands has dropped (check it below). Additionally, Predator overseer right now, Dan Trachtenberg, also just revealed that the latter product had been hiding a secret epilogue, now added to its streaming file, just in time for the two things (and SDCC) to coincide which, incidentally, confirms a huge number of rumours around the world(s) of Predator, Prey and more moving forward.

Phew.

We mean, a Weyland-Yutani synthetic torn in Bishop-style half in the world of a Predator is cool enough. But then to be backpacked, C-3PO-style, on an alien planet by a Yautja warrior on a personal journey of discovery, Wolf & Cub-style... whew. Is it getting hot in here? Then, we mean, she also has a seeming chip on her shoulder but wants to help the young buck with his 'do or die' hunt and then, you know, the 'prey' they're both now collabing on is a gigantic monster (pro tip: the 'impossible' prey is a writer's hero arc red herring) and will they win (they will, but it was never the real PREY, right?)?

There just aren't enough ways to describe how all of that makes us feel and that's from just a couple minutes of new footage.

Then, of course, we have the SDCC stuff which reveals more content added to Predator: Killer of Killers (available on Disney+ now) which just adds coolness, fan-faves and, on a few key levels, the first real sense of unity amidst the murky world of the Predator series in moving image form. In fact, there's a lot going on here that comic book aficionados can see as having been gestated within the Funny Pages for aeons, and we're all for it.

No AVP movie has been great. They've been 'fun', to a degree, but that Badlands tells us, definitvely, that the worlds of Alien and Predator are, in fact, in the same universe, officially, is cool and worrying, at the same time. What happens next is anyone's guess. Most Predator tales have been a crapshoot of who writes, who directs, its current milestone and basic hope, but Trachtenberg's world, albeit not reset and quite murky, is beginning to feel like it has a lot of Yautja tales to tell, and all within a timeline that works and never, ever feels forced.

Fingers crossed for this and the future of the Predators and their Prey moving forward.
