Netflix Teases a Wednesday (as in the Show) Event Happening in Just Under 2 Weeks in Sydney

When it comes to big events, marketing stunts and plain impressive PR, Netflix has always represented incredibly well in Australia. From a giant Young-hee from Squid Game at Luna Park to Stranger Things taking over Bondi Beach, the streaming giant sees Australia as a place to celebrate its considerably powerful IP in creative and explosive ways. And now it's Wednesday Addams' turn to darken the mood around Sydney, and its happening soon if a number of cryptic sign posts and a countdown website are anything to go by.

"Sydney Bound. Begrudgingly." 

Not overly telling, however, the "Wednesday Island" hint is fairly glaring and if we had to poke a guess, we'd say Cocakatoo Island will be home to some sort of celebratory event, or PR stunt or world class design -- a 'haunted house' experience definitely springs to mind. If Netflix's history here is anything to go by. We won't have to wait long for confirmation on what it is, though, with the above-linked countdown site suggesting all will be revealed around July 10.

Wednesday Season 2 is still over a month away, airing on Netflix from August 6, though we're getting a split season not at all dissimilarly to how Season 2 of Squid Game has played out, with Part 2 scheduled to stream from September 3 -- a far less lengthy wait than the aformentioned thriller, which is, frankly, a good thing.
