First Look at Kratos and Atreus in Prime's Upcoming God of War Adaptation

"Aaaaaand ACTION!"

"Umm... line, please?"

"Boy!"

The first image of Ryan Hurst and Callum Vinson as Kratos and Atreus in Prime Video's forthcoming live-action adaptation of God of War has been released, and we're impressed with how close things are looking for the project as compared to the critically acclaimed (recent) games.

With Ronald D. Moore (Battlestar Galactica, For All Mankind) serving as showrunner, executive producer and writer, alongside input and steering from Santa Monica StudiosCory Barlog, God of War's transition the interactive world to passive media is clearly in the right hands.

Others joining the father-son duo above include the likes of Alistair Duncan as Mimir, Jeff Gulka as Sindri, Ólafur Darri Ólafsson as Thor, Teresa Palmer as Sif, Max Parker as Heimdall, Ed Skrein as Baldur, Danny Woodburn as Brok and Mandy Patinkin as Odin, round out the known cast so far. Some character names are clearly missing from the above suggesting more casting is yet to be announced, but so far it's all looking very cool.

The God of War series storyline follows father and son Kratos and Atreus as they embark on a journey to spread the ashes of their wife and mother, Faye. Through their adventures, Kratos tries to teach his son to be a better god, while Atreus tries to teach his father how to be a better human.

With no release date or other assets to pour over yet, the above is about all we know, but it's great to see things seemingly on the right track. We'll share more as we have it.
