Eyes of Wakanda is Dropping on Disney+ this Week - Do You Like Assassin's Creed?

"Spies look you, and me, sent out across the world to do the missions that Wakanda does not want known..."

It's hard to not see the influence and similarities, but Ryan Coogler and Marvel Animation's forthcoming limited series, Eyes of Wakanda, is very, very Assassin's Creed-like. Right down to some of the cinematic action 'posters' performed by the show's "Wakandan spies".

Before we get too deep on it, take a look for yourself:

Now, it's not like the premise belongs solely to Ubisoft and its flagship franchise, but you can't deny a striking resemblance from the above. Still, is that such a bad thing? We don't think so, and in fact given the combat and agility prowess, as well as unique powers, of the Wakandan warriors, it actually makes a fair bit of sense that such a narrative arc would (and should) exist.

[Follow] the adventures of brave Wakandan warriors throughout history. In this globe-trotting adventure, the heroes must carry-out dangerous missions to retrieve Vibranium artefacts from the enemies of Wakanda. They are the "Hatut Zaraze" and this is their story.

Sound familiar?

The series was actually meant to hit streaming services later but was pushed forward, meaning it will be available to watch in Australia on Disney+ from August 1 and spans four episodes. Eyes of Wakanda also brings with it the voice talents of the likes of Winnie Harlow, Cress Williams, Patricia Belcher, Larry HerronAdam GoldLynn Whitfield, Jacques Colimon, Jona Xiao, Isaac Robinson-Smith, Gary Anthony Williams, Zeke Alton, Steve Toussaint, and Anika Noni Rose. It's also directed by Coogler's long-time collaborator, Todd Harris who has also worked on the likes of John Wick

Alongside the trailer above, we also have some stills from the series and a handful of key art posters you can view in our carousel below.
