Alien: Earth's Official Trailer is "Special"

On Earth, everyone hears you scream...

Like so many darkened silhouettes against equally dark backdrops throughout the franchise's history, we've seen only teasers of what FX's Alien: Earth might look like, and be. But the series' official trailer, dropped recently, has given us what is definitely the most positive of glimpses into an Earth-bound xenomorphic invasion yet. And it's as scientifically nefarious as you might think, in that it's more about the classic bottom line and bio-weapons than anything meaningful.

Acid pool dip your toe in, below...

Naturally this is retro-future and in line with the accepted installments, and is currently looking very good, but judgement on such entities when Ridley Scott is involved is, as always, reserved.

In the year 2120, the Earth is governed by five corporations: Prodigy, Weyland-Yutani, Lynch, Dynamic and Threshold. In this Corporate Era, cyborgs (humans with both biological and artificial parts) and synthetics (humanoid robots with artificial intelligence) exist alongside humans. But the game is changed when the wunderkind Founder and CEO of Prodigy Corporation unlocks a new technological advancement: hybrids (humanoid robots infused with human consciousness). The first hybrid prototype named “Wendy” marks a new dawn in the race for immortality. After Weyland-Yutani’s spaceship collides into Prodigy City, “Wendy” and the other hybrids encounter mysterious life forms more terrifying than anyone could have ever imagined.

Of course, the comic book world is no stranger to Aliens on Earth, but this is genuinely looking like the sort of ongoing series we've wanted around our acid-for-blood space jockey... jockeys, for some time. So as it stands, Mother is excited at the prospect and keen to study more.

Stay tuned for more as we have it, or care to share.
