Waterparks, Turtles and an Elusive Skating Celebrity are Just Part of Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 + 4

The question is, can we unlock Phil Margera as a secret skater?

The much anticipated sequel(s) to Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 + 2 is/are upon us (a grammatical nightmare these games are when speaking in singular and plural, TOGETHER, really). And while not handled by the venerable Vicarious Visions, now an in-house Blizzard studio, the high air marker with that first outing has been erected, leaving new kids on the block, Iron Galaxy Studios with big skate shoes to fill and much height to gain.

The developer is known for its work across many projects, mainly as a porting studio with the likes of the Batman: Arkham series (not all), The Last of Us and Uncharted and Marvel Vs Capcom Origins in its repertoire. It also helped on the Metroid Prime Remastered release which, in this writer's eyes, was flawless. Overwatch has also been in its title manifest meaning it knows how to work with Activision so things are definitely looking up in terms of what we'll get in the wake of VV's spine transfer to a whole other publisher (albeit in-house).

Have a look at the launch trailer below, just to familiarise yourself while we work on some words to follow...

In addition to the two base games with updated visuals and essentially more power, we're in store for brand new content for the modern age, including a waterpark level, a pinball machine level and a competition level based around a film lot simply titled "Movie Studio". And in keeping with the movie content, it's also been revealed that Michaelangelo of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles fame will be a rideable character alongside a polarising figure from skateboarding's bad-boy side and past, one energetic Bam Margera.

Other additions include New Game+, Custom Goals and new Gameplay Objects inside a fully revamped and robust "Create-A-Park" mode, "Hawk Mode" which is a riff on Hide and Seek where one player leaves challenges for the 'hiding' player, all done in sequential runs, and all as part of an equally updated multiplayer offering. An offering, mind, with full cross-play, local and private options for up to eight players.

You can read more about the above in detail from the game's official blog and there's still time to grab the Foundary demo if you pre-order the game now.
