The Three Thousands is a New Development Studio from Industry Veterans

And there's a lot of ex-EA Australia development DNA in this new venture's blood

Having worked across franchises such as Real Racing, Need for Speed and The Sims, the upper brass at newly-minted studio The Three Thousands (a title apparently inspired by the Melbourne city postcode of 3000) have what you might refer to as "experience". More aptly, though, is that much of that experience is being pushed into an all-new starting grid around the racing and motorsport genre where the team hope to develop "genre-defining racing titles that will resonate with global audiences while tapping into the rich culture of car enthusiasts and pop culture lovers alike".

Those three 'upper-brass' are, in apparent pecking order, Joseph Donoghue -- Chief Executive Office, Nikhil Kurian -- Chief Product Office and Benjamin Dawe -- Chief Creative Officer. Of the opening and announcing of their new studio, Donoghue says the team's goal is pretty clear.

“Our goal with The Three Thousands is to become the ultimate Digital Automotive Brand, blending racing, culture, and entertainment in a way no one has done before. We’ve assembled a core team that are truly best in class at what they do to help deliver against the vision and we couldn’t be happier with the results.”

“With government incentives making Australia an attractive, cost-effective location, we’re positioned to build world-class products on efficient budgets,” Kurian adds. “We’re excited to develop new games that harness these advantages and push the boundaries of world-class innovation.”

“As major franchises reach maturity, there’s an open lane for innovation in both the technology we use and how we build IP,” Dawe concludes on the studio’s ambitions. “We’re stepping into that space, aiming to create next-gen experiences that challenge what’s possible in gaming and entertainment.”

More information around the studio's first project, set to release in 2025, will be revealed "in the coming months", so stay tuned, especially if you're a motorsport enthusiast.
