Nintendo Shadow Drops Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition - Nintendo Switch 2 Edition
We kid, we kid. Just some words jokes right there in the lead in. Ahem. Nintendo today has dropped an unexpected release for the critically acclaimed JRPG Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition by way of an even more enhanced version of the game for Nintendo Switch 2. In addition to enhanced visuals, upgrades to performance and other quality of life aspects have also been added to this new release, making this the best way to play one of the Switch's most loved titles.
Here, have a look at the equally snuck out the door trailer for the above, below:
4K resolution and 60fps on supported panels when docked is always a great upgrade for a classic title, but even in handheld mode we get the same 60fps in 1080p, so no matter how you play, it's gonna look pretty damn sweet.
In Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition, the year is 2054 and Earth has been destroyed. A colony ship of human survivors – including your customisable main character – has narrowly escaped the devastation and crashes on the mysterious planet Mira. Trek across a massive, dangerous world and fight for humanity’s future in this sci-fi RPG. Immerse yourself in an action-packed battle system with a variety of special attacks and skills to employ, enemies of all shapes and sizes to take down and more. You can even pilot a Skell that can fly, transform into a vehicle and wield immense strength in combat – if you can prove yourself to the BLADE organisation, first.
The digital version is available from today on the Nintendo eShop, while a physical release is also planned for April 16 if you still like to collect physical boxes. Currently you can fork over just $8 AUD if you already owned the OG version to upgrade it, but if you don't and still want it, you're in for just $87.95.
Love a good shadow drop, and Nintendo is becoming the master at them.
