Shodan Have Marked Your Calendars - Nightdive's System Shock 2: 25th Anniversary Remaster Delayed
Considering the remaster comes packed with multiplayer, updated, to facilitate cross-play, a slight delay really isn't that big of a deal, at least in our eyes.
In case you missed it, necromantic developer, Nightdive Studios, responsible for reviving myriad classics such as Turok 1, 2 and 3, Shadow Man and Forsaken (among many others -- we just loved the Iguana and Acclaim titles), is remastering and releasing the game that started the studio's own journey on its 25th anniversary and if its trailer and the numerous screens in our carousel below are anything to go by, this should be well worth the quarter century wait.
Watch two examples below, Insect.
We've jaunted through the OG System Shock remaster and are huge fans of all the source material and developers that blossomed from this beloved series, such as BioShock and Dead Space, but sometimes there's just nothing quite like the original to really give you the best taste of how rare these types of experiences were and, frankly, still are.
On PC the Remaster releases this June 26 while Nightdive has committed to the broader month of "July" for console, but everyone gets a slice of this pie sooner rather than later. Stay tuned for more on System Shock 2: 25th Anniversary Remaster and check out those promised assets below.
