Latest S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 Trailer, New Artwork and the Long Overdue News it’s Gone Gold
Arguably one of the year’s most anticipated releases and a title not only a long-time coming, but one racked with development tumult and unimaginable uphill battles (explored in intimate detail here), S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl is now just over a week away from release as of this news post being published. But before that , developer GSC Game World has one last look at the game for you by way of a new trailer embedded below, information that it has indeed now ‘gone gold’ (which means no last minute tweaks outside of post-launch patches), some new artwork to absorb and, in case you missed it, we have a reminder that the “Legacy of the Zone” S.T.A.L.K.E.R. trilogy is now available on Nintendo Switch, just in case you needed a refresher on what all the fuss is about.
First though, about that trailer…
You can catch an entire video series around the game-world (and more) if you're willing to risk even peripheral or ambience-adjacent spoilers (they are a thing), by clicking here. But for now let's just celebrate such an incredible milestone for such a resiliant team and IP. Oh, and before we forget and as teased above, if you never played any of the original games, all of which you can find in isolation (themed verbiage) on most platforms, or in a nice little package recently released for Switch, here's some more info for you:
Invesitgate the Zone's origins, taking on the role of legendary stalkers and forging paths that can lead to different outcomes, based on your actions and decisions. Test your gumption while navigating trhough radioactive debris and anomolies, and put your reflexes to the trial during intense tactical gunfights. Traverse vast locations, saturated with Eastern European atmosphere and referenced from the real-life Chornobyl Exclusion Zone: the city of Prypiat, the Nuclear Station, the Jupiter plant, and many others. Solitude and desolation of these lands will be the only trustworthy companions on your foray into a dark science-fiction setting.
We also have a trailer for the Switch release, which is available now, grab some irradiated popcorn and check it:
On top of all of the above, we also have some additional artwork in our image carousel below (click the iage for the full, un-cropped version), alongside the promised new artwork for the game ahead of release. S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl is set to hit PC and Xbox on November 20. It will also be available to play on GeForce NOW via the Cloud and we'll have a review of it when we're damn ready... but keep an eye out for it. It'll be definitive.
