Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era is Early Access-Bound 'Soon'

Welcome back, Might and Magic... you've been missed!

One of this writer's favourite series, Might and Magic is set to make a return to screens everywhere with Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era which Ubisoft has revealed will be dropping into Early Access this winter in Australia, or otherwise known as Q2, 2025.

No other specifics around a date were revealed, but there is a nifty CG trailer to have a gawk at, which has an interesting art style and comes off as fairly WoW-ish, but that's okay. High fantasy is high fantasy, right?

A fairly straightforward post over on Ubi's official blog tells us this is the usual fare with a new playspace, new factions and more multiplayer, but remains turn-based and full of the type of drama, writing and strategy the series has been known for. An alternative to Nintendo's popular Fire Emblem series, Might and Magic is a great other strategy title out there that tends to move away from some of the more aligned JRPG tropes Ninty's long running series comes packed with and in many ways could be considered slightly more mature in tone and writing, but most people will say you're just splitting hairs at that point.

Stay tuned for more as we have it, but in the meantime you can Wishlist the game via the link above or peruse a handful of screens in our carousel below, or do both -- it's your time.
