Grand Theft Auto VI Latest: Pre-Order Details and a Love-In with the PS5
GTA VI will play "best on PS5" according to a recent post on the PlayStation Blog with Rockstar and SIE working closely together to leverage the unique features of the PS5 its competitors just don't have (read: haptic feedback in the DualSense controller).
"The controller's haptic feedback offers responsive vibrations, while its adaptive triggers provide dynamic resistance," the post reads. "The controller's integrated speaker also adds another dimension to key moments and interactions, with sound effects from the controller enhanced by haptic feedback.
We'd by lying if we said we're not as enthused by the controller speaker function given in many games it comes across as tinny and even distracting, but we're also big fans of how Rockstar goes about it and knows the studio doesn't do things by half measures, let alone buys into gimmicks, so we're also optimistic it has done right by the technology in front of it.
Additionally, the blog claims the system's "ultra high-speed" SSD will bring the most seamless (and relative) load-free experience to players, while its Tempest 3D Audio Tech will also be entirely leveraged to bring the world of the game's setting, Leonida, to bustling life.
We also scrambled some fresh details on the pre-order options for the game, which are out in the wild today and include a standard edition as well as the Grand Theft Auto VI: Ultimate Edition which will come with premium vehicles, weapons, apparel and additional beats to engage in across the game's densely-layered environments and communities. If you also opt-in before November 20 -- pre-order or retail purchase -- you'll gain access to the "Vintage Vice City Pack" that clearly offers up some cool retro gear from Vice City.
