Capcom Reveals More on Monster Hunter Wilds, Impresses with New Trailer
As part of the Sony PlayStation 'State of Play' event ahead of June's Summer Games Fest (which loosely features independent but well-timed showcases and reveals from all the big and small mobs), Capcom was featured with the latest update and details on the upcoming Monster Hunter Wilds -- the first major installment in the popular series since Monster Hunter World in what you'd refer to as the flagship titles. (Others exist as spinoffs, such as Monster Hunter Rise for Nintendo Switch.)
Today's new info dump also came with a fairly impressive trailer and stood out in the State of Play as arguably the best presentation. Watch it below.
Chief among the new deets comes the notion that this new open-world is hugely dynamic, features an entirely functioning ecology where "each hunting locale features an environment with two dynamically changing identities: one in which the region is harsh and unforgiving where ravenous monsters fight for limited resources — and another in which the region is vibrant and brimming with life".
Honestly, this sounds like where most monster hunters have wanted this series to go, and is seemingly in line with most modern Capcom projects with expanded playspaces, new mechanics and simply more of what punters want. Check out more screens from the visual reveal in the carousel below, and be sure to sign up for our Newsletter and to be able to Comment using the fields throughout the site.
Monster Hunter Wilds is scheduled for a very open window of "2025" for release. We'll have more as soon as it comes in, so stay tuned!
