Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora Set to Gain Third-Person View and New Game+ Update

The header content is dropping in time for Avatar: Fire and Ash, coming to cinemas late December, alongside other additions to the game!

To be fair, one of the biggest hurdles with Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora was the game's dense landscape and being able to make sense of direction, goals and the game-world's flora and fauna within that density. In first-person mode it was always a stunning recreation of James Cameron's sci fi epic, but it felt easy to be both overwhelmed and to just kind of get lost.

Later this year we're set to be graced with Cameron's next entry in the films with Avatar: Fire and Ash and to coincide with that, Ubisoft and Massive Entertainment have announced that players will finally be able to run, leap and fight through the game-world in full third-person view -- a much-requested feature alongside New Game+, which the teams also revealed will be come in a significant update.

Have a look at the reveal trailer for the revealing third-person perspective below...

With "the push of a button" you'll be able to switch in and out of first and third-person mode, while your player-created Na'vi will finally be in full view, meaning all your hard work making them yours, will finally be rewarded, visually.

Unfortunately the update is a still a ways off (December 6), so if you haven't dabbled in either of The Sky Breaker or Secrets of the Spires from the game's post-launch roadmap, you might actually want to wait till you can with either viewpoint available to you. Additionally for any stragglers, Ubi reminds us there's a host of quality of life updates that have been released over the game's near two-year journey, so again, now might be the best time to mount up on your Ikran and take to the Pandoran skies.
