Artist Profile

Jeremy Lord

Graphic Designer, Illustrator

Greetings, my name’s Jeremy, I'm a freelance illustrator and artist based in Sydney. I like to think of my work as like taking a trip through Bladerunner if it was an anime set in feudal Japan. I grew up a skater kid in the 80s and 90s when anime and videogames were the real deal, and I like to use those references as often as I can in my work. This usually means references and Easter Eggs from Manga and Japanese culture, skateboarding, videogames and pop culture all go into my work in varying measure, creating some odd mashups and cross-world experiences.

You can find more of Jeremy's work here on his official site.

Jeremy's name came across our desks on merits of professionalism and coolness, all rolled into one. Where Chad Drake was already on the same page as us having worked with him for so long already, upon seeing Jeremy's content we knew he spoke our brand.

Even if he didn't know it yet.

Quietly confident, Jeremy's demeanour, in many ways, both represents and belies his art. It's at once full of bombast and explosiveness, while being thoughtful and compositional in a very measured but seamless way. It's easy to draw what you love, and even easier if you're just mashing up all of things you love, but it's an art form to understand how best to do that. This is perhaps why Jeremy is such a beloved person in professional circles; anyone who has worked with him always speaks of the ease in which the relationship manifested and then how simply their vision, or a brand's vision, came to life. But it's never done at the detriment of his own style and flair.

Jeremy lists his favourite manga/anime as Ranma 1 1/2, his fave game (as of current) as Ghost of Tsushima, his fave skate brand as Hook-Ups and that if he could do a mashup of two IP illustratively, it would be DBZ's Kakarot vs "Zelda BotW".

As with Chad before him, Jeremy's first work with us won't be his last (promise).
