Let Thrall of World of Warcraft Help you Navigate with the Waze Navigation and Live App

For the Horde! Now turn left in 300 metres...

In one of the more interesting mashups we're seeing Blizzard do, Thrall from World of Warcraft has been added to the "Drive With" offerings in the Waze navigation app so he can basically give you directions, and it's all very legit with the awesome and always handsome Chris Metzen serving as Thrall's voice.

The addition is available now in the app globally, but unfortunately as Metzen clearly can't speak every language in the world (though his personality suggests otherwise), Thrall's navigation is only available in English.

All you road warriors can listen to Thrall’s words of encouragement and guidance as they navigate their drives. When faced with heavy traffic, he'll advise you to "breathe — this is not the end of the world." When he offers suggestions like U-turns, he describes them as, "a clever strategy to fool any pursuers on our tail."

Choose between two moods in the World of Warcraft driving experience — "Horde,” represented by a miniature Thrall, the former warchief of the Horde, and “Alliance”, a warrior in blue and gold armour representing the Alliance. You can even choose the Red Drake as your vehicle — a great honour for any Champion of Azeroth!

More of these are available, including Ghostbusters which makes so much sense in a geek-aligned world where pop culture is now as ubiquitous as just about anything. And a funny story, years and years ago this writer was snowboarding here in Australia and find myself spending the day with punk band Strung Out's original drummer, Jordan Burns, who literally pitched this idea to me, only his business model centred around Mr T being your nav partner and whom would berate you if you made a wrong turn or did anything bad in the car. I really liked his pitch.
