Steam Deck Now Available for Aussies, Including the New Limited Edition White OLED Model

The long wait is over, Valve's portable Steam Deck gaming handheld is finally available in Australia.

The Steam Deck has finally arrived in Australia. The popular PC gaming handheld is launching today and can be ordered directly from Valve via Steam. Three models, including the brilliant OLED refresh, are available to purchase.

Pricing (which includes GST) is as follows.

  • Steam Deck 56GB LCD: $649.00 AUD
  • Steam Deck 512GB OLED: $899.00 AUD
  • Steam Deck 1TB OLED: $1049.00 AUD

Aussie PC gamers can also order the brand-new custom Steam Deck OLED Limited Edition White model -- which looks beautiful.

Priced at $1049.00 AUD, the Limited Edition White model is essentially the 1TB OLED model in a brand-new colourway. Valve notes that depending on how it's received (we predict it will sell out pretty quickly), we’ll see more Steam Deck colourways, which is very cool.

The Steam Deck OLED models include a slightly larger display, faster memory, and a bigger battery than the LCD variant. The big drawcard is the vibrant HDR OLED screen, which can transform the gaming experience. All models feature the same custom AMD hardware with integrated RDNA 2 or Radeon graphics and 16GB of LPDDR5 memory.

If you’re considering buying one, our recommendation is… “Yes!” We’ll explain why in our full review, which is coming soon.

And in case you missed it, we have a pretty ripping yarn on just how, *maybe*, the Steam Deck made its way to Australia at all, which we may or may not have been involved with.
